Gate valves; They fulfill their task by closing and opening the fluid passage between two sealing rings with a disc (gate) sliding perpendicular to the passage direction. Slide; It can be one piece or multiple pieces. It is preferred that they work as fully open or fully closed. They are not suitable for precise flow control. Their use has been declining in recent years.
Advantages:
– Fully open valve provides a smooth transition for flow with very low resistance.
– They can be used for flow from both sides.
– The valve can be installed in any position. However, it is preferable to have the spindle perpendicular to the ground and the flywheel on top.
– There is a short valve length even at large nominal sizes.
– They are inexpensive and readily available.
– There are types suitable for high pressures.
– There are types that are fire safe or suitable for low temperatures.
